Over the course of December 2014, and the beginning of 2015, I did a little bit of shopping. However, the items that I purchased are all in a monochrome theme. This was something in which I did not plan, and it is something which has never happened with me before. I'm a girl who loves to wear a bit of colour. Of course I still own clothes which are black and white (because they can go with everything) yet, as it seems, monochrome appears to be a trend which I am rather loving at the moment. I only realised this once I came home and saw that everything I brought was black and white. Obviously, this is not a problem at all. Like I said, black and white goes with everything and anything, so this is fine by me.
[ Black Lace Boots, Primark, £10, Size 5 ]
Firstly, I went to my local Primark before Christmas to have a nosy around. I was planning on buying another Christmas jumper to add to my collection but I came away with a pair of black ankle boots instead. I really didn't need another pair, but I couldn't resit these little boots. The laces caught my eye and all my other boots are a leather look material whereas these feel like suede. When I tried them on in the shop, to my surprise, they were lined with a fuzzy material (like what you get in slippers). And because they felt like slippers on, I had to get them.
[ Black and White Crop Top, Topshpo, £14, Size 10 Petite ]
On a different shopping trip and still before Christmas, I popped into Topshop for a browse. I saw this top in the petite section and thought it was lovely. The material so soft and stretchy and I think it would make a great day and night time top. You could pair it with a black skater skirt and tights with a pair of black boots (like my little Primark ones) or for a night time look, you could wear it with a skort, skirt or high waisted jeans, heeled boots and a statement necklace. Then you're good to go!
[ White & Grey ribbed tops, Primark, £3 each, Size 12 ]
These two tops I brought whilst on a trip to Meadowhall. I stumbled upon them near the pyjama section. I definitely don't think these are pyjama tops, if they are, I'm still going to wear them out anyway! I also picked these up in a size bigger than what I am because when I saw them, I thought that they looked so small for a 12? There wasn't a size 10 or 8 left, so I thought that these would fit fine. I saw similar ones to these in Topshop and the Primark ones were only £3! Compared to the Topshop ones, you're saving yourself £7!
[ Checkered Top, Primark, £8, Size 8 ]
[ Jumper, Primark, £12, Size 8 ]
I absolutely love this little jumper. The lace trim at the bottom caught my eye from the other side of the shop. It looks a bit of a weird shape on the picture above, but it hangs so nicely. It's over sized making it cosy for the winter season and the wool is very soft. It's kind of cropped; comes to just about your hips but you can still wear it with normal jeans without showing off your stomach. The jumper is ideal for day time wear and the lace detailing adds a unique twist to the simple jumper.
[ Floral pattern shorts, Newlook, £14.99, Size 8 petite ]
When I spotted these shorts, I instantly knew I would be buying them. I have a pair similar to these and the reason why I love them so much is that they look like a skirt, yet they are actually shorts. So when you are out and about and it starts to get a bit windy, you don't have to worry about trying to keep your skirt down! I think these would be perfect for the current season as you can pair them with a black jumper, tights and boots, or you can wear these in the summer with a white crop top and sandals.
And just for a bit of fun for next Christmas...
[ Christmas pudding leggings, Primark, £5 in sale, Size 8 ]
My Mum insisted that I brought these. She loves anything and everything Christmassy and she does love a good sale. I picked these up and I once again debated whether to buy them. My Mum said 'Are they on sale? Are they in your size? Do you like them?' I answered yes to all so she told me to get them. I have to admit, I really do like these. They are so warm and cosy but I think that these leggings will only be worn in the house, not in public.
